Hartselle Utilities’ sewer fees are based on the amount of water a household uses. Irrigation meters are best for customers who use a substantial amount of water outdoors, where the water does not enter the sewer system. An irrigation meter registers outdoor water usage, such as sprinkling the lawn or garden; washing cars, driveways or decks; and filling swimming pools, and the customer is charged for the water only, not the sewer system charge.
