Many in the Hartselle area may know someone facing difficult times financially, either because of a job loss or health crisis. For someone facing a financial crisis, high utility bills and the prospect of having utilities disconnected make a stressful situation even worse. The Community Action Partnership of North Alabama provides resources to families and individuals in these situations.

Community Action administers the federally-funded Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program and Operation Warm, which is funded by local donations. Both programs provide one-time assistance to help low-income residents, the elderly and those with disabilities pay heating bills, and to help keep utilities from being turned off during a health crisis. Clients who meet income criteria and have necessary documentation can get qualified in a single day for assistance with their utility bill.

For more information please visit Community Action Partnership of North Alabama . For household applying for first-time assistance, contact the CAPNA Decatur office at (256) 260-3100 for pre-application guidance.
